A prominent renewable energy investment firm, SolRiver Capital, has initiated the construction phase of its 7 MW Longleaf Solar Project located in Davie County, North Carolina. This marks the company's twelfth solar initiative in the Carolinas region. The project was acquired as a developmental asset and progressed to the Notice to Proceed stage. Once completed, this project will contribute significantly to the company’s broader portfolio in the Carolinas, adding to their cumulative generating capacity of approximately 100 MW.
According to Riley Sullivan, Executive Vice President at SolRiver Capital, the acquisition of the Longleaf project presented challenges that were successfully navigated using the company's established strategies for development completion. The solar installation is anticipated to commence operations by the second quarter of 2025. In addition to Longleaf, SolRiver is also constructing the Williams project, a 6 MW facility scheduled to go live around the same timeframe.
Brandon Conard, Managing Partner at SolRiver Capital, highlighted the company's active role in the Carolinas market since 2019, expressing satisfaction over expanding their presence with additional assets. A notable aspect of the project involves the utilization of safe-harbor panels purchased in 2023 and stored in a North Carolina warehouse. These panels have been deployed not only in the Longleaf project but also in several others over the past two years, aiding SolRiver in maintaining a competitive edge within a dynamic market environment.
SolRiver Capital, founded in 2016, stands as a leading figure in renewable energy investments across the United States. The firm manages over 1.5 GW of projects encompassing various markets and technologies. Their commitment lies in fostering strong partnerships and providing innovative solutions to promote sustainability and economic prosperity.
Through its strategic approach and robust portfolio expansion in the Carolinas, SolRiver Capital underscores its dedication to advancing renewable energy initiatives. The Longleaf Solar Project exemplifies the company's ability to overcome developmental hurdles and leverage resources effectively, ensuring timely delivery and contributing positively to regional energy production.
