Strategic Leadership Changes for the Grand Rapids Gold

The Denver Nuggets organization has implemented significant changes within its G League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold, ushering in a new era of leadership. These strategic appointments aim to invigorate the team's performance and operational efficiency ahead of the upcoming season.

Ryan Bowen Takes the Helm as Head Coach

Ryan Bowen, a familiar face within the Nuggets' ecosystem, has been named the new head coach for the Grand Rapids Gold. Bowen's extensive 17-year tenure within the Denver organization, including a decade as an assistant coach and five years as a player, positions him uniquely to lead the G League squad. He steps into this role, succeeding Andre Miller, with a clear mandate to guide the Gold through the 2025-26 G League season.

Chad Iske Assumes Dual Leadership Roles

Further strengthening the Gold's front office, Chad Iske has been appointed as the General Manager of the Grand Rapids Gold, while also taking on the significant role of Vice President of Pro Personnel for the Denver Nuggets. An Illinois native, Iske brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles with several NBA franchises, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Sacramento Kings, Washington Wizards, and Charlotte Hornets, making his return to an expanded capacity a key move for the organization.

Promotions and New Additions to the Management Team

The leadership revamp also includes the promotion of Nihal Kolur to Assistant General Manager of the Gold, alongside his new responsibilities as Director of Strategy for the Nuggets. Kolur, who joined the Denver team in 2022, offers a robust background in basketball operations and analytics from both the NBA league office and Major League Soccer. Complementing these changes, Matthew Tynes has been brought in as the Director of G League Operations and Scouting, following his valuable contributions to both the Nuggets and the Gold in similar capacities last season, and prior stints with Harvard and the Boston Celtics.
