The financial aspect of this ambitious project involves issuing general obligation bonds totaling $5.355 million, with repayment scheduled over two decades. To fund these improvements, local property taxes will experience a modest increase. For instance, homeowners with properties valued at $100,000 can expect an annual tax rise of approximately $65.52. Similarly, commercial or agricultural properties of the same value may see an increase of about $72.80 per year. Voting on this proposal will take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on February 18th at Ellendale Public School, located at 321 N. First Street. Voters should enter through door No. 1. It's worth noting that the district has successfully managed previous bond payments, including one from 2010, which is due to be fully repaid in June. An anticipated growth in the district’s tax base further supports the feasibility of this new endeavor.
