A community-focused initiative is set to transform lives by addressing critical legal challenges faced by residents. Dana Acy, a dedicated local advocate, has taken on the challenge of helping people navigate the complexities of the criminal justice system. Initially skeptical about entering this field, Acy’s perspective shifted as she delved deeper into the issues surrounding incarceration and its impact on marginalized communities. She recognized an urgent need for support and decided to take action.

On March 3rd, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Garfield Heights Public Library will host a pivotal event aimed at assisting county residents in overcoming various legal hurdles. Attendees can receive help with starting expungement processes, restoring driving privileges, and removing warrant blocks that hinder essential activities like securing housing or renewing vehicle registration. These services are crucial for individuals re-entering society after incarceration, providing them with a second chance to rebuild their lives.

Acy’s vision extends beyond this single event. Through July, she plans to organize additional programs designed to eliminate legal barriers and empower individuals to regain control of their futures. By identifying and addressing obstacles, her initiatives aim to uplift families and communities, fostering self-sufficiency and stability. This effort underscores the importance of community support and advocacy in creating pathways to success for all Clevelanders.
