Notably, the cost of issuance will be covered directly from bond sales, ensuring minimal fiscal strain on other district resources.The first phase of construction, aligned with agreements reached during the meeting with contractor Dilbeck & Sons, focuses on integrating essential utilities like electrical systems and gas lines from two existing buildings slated for demolition. Additionally, Dilbeck will undertake measures to install a wildlife barrier, a temporary perimeter fence, and an access road to facilitate seamless operations at the site. These infrastructural enhancements are estimated to cost approximately $4.5 million, showcasing a prudent reduction from earlier projections, thereby optimizing resource allocation effectively.
Expanding Learning Horizons Through Summer Programs
The trustees' approval extended beyond financial transactions into enriching educational opportunities via summer programs. Two agreements were sanctioned to bolster learning experiences funded by state grants. The collaboration with Youth Alliance promises nine hours of daily programming under the Expanded Learning Opportunities initiative spanning from June 11 to July 25. Building upon the success of last year's "Camp Casa," this program aims to engage and educate students during the summer break.Complementing this effort, the partnership with Silicon Valley Education Foundation introduces a specialized 23-day summer curriculum at Anzar High School. Targeted at students proficient in Algebra 1 or high school geometry, this program prepares participants for advanced coursework in Algebra 2. Looking ahead, the trustees authorized an agreement with Bruce W. Woolpert Algebra Academy to deliver a year-long advanced enrichment program commencing in the 2025-26 school year.
