This new tool allows users to convert spoken words into text across various desktop applications, similar to existing dictation services like Wispr Flow, Willow, or SuperWhisper. Users can initiate dictation by pressing a specific key combination (Fn on Mac or Ctrl + Win on Windows) while any application is open, and Fireflies will capture their voice and neatly transcribe it directly into the active text field. According to Fireflies CEO Krish Ramineni, this move underscores a broader vision to establish Fireflies as an AI companion for everyday tasks, extending its utility beyond meetings to encompass emails, Slack messages, documents, and other digital interactions.
The integration of 'Fireflies Talk' into existing subscription plans, without additional charges, reflects a strategic decision by the company.
