Huawei has launched its latest premium smartphone, the Mate 90 Pro Max, showcasing impressive technological advancements. This device, initially available in China, features a remarkable 6.9-inch 120Hz LTPO OLED display that achieves an astonishing 12,000 nits of brightness. Complementing this visual prowess is a substantial 6,800mAh battery, designed to offer extended usage and fast charging capabilities, including 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, positioning it as a strong contender in the high-end smartphone market.

The Mate 90 Pro Max's display technology is particularly notable, utilizing a dual-layer LTPO OLED panel for enhanced visual performance. Under the hood, the device is powered by Huawei's Kirin 9050 Pro chipset in its 16GB RAM configurations, while 12GB variants feature the Kirin 9050. The operating system is HarmonyOS 7, Huawei's proprietary platform, offering a tailored user experience. These specifications highlight Huawei's commitment to pushing the boundaries of smartphone performance and display quality.

Photography is a central focus of the Mate 90 Pro Max. It is equipped with a sophisticated camera system, featuring a 50MP primary camera with a large 1/1.28-inch RYYB sensor, optical image stabilization (OIS), and a versatile f/1.4-f/4.0 continuously adjustable aperture. This is paired with an impressive 200MP periscope telephoto lens, also with a 1/1.28-inch RYYB sensor, OIS, and 4x optical zoom. An additional 40MP ultrawide camera and a third-generation Red Maple color sensor further enhance its imaging capabilities, ensuring high-quality photos across various conditions. For selfies, a 13MP ultrawide front camera and a 3D depth-sensing camera are included.

The Collector's Edition of the Mate 90 Pro Max offers an even more advanced photography experience with the optional Ruiying Z10 external camera module. This module integrates a 1-inch RYYB sensor and provides a 24-240mm focal range with 10x continuous optical zoom, and an aperture range from f/2.0 to f/4.5. This accessory effectively transforms the smartphone into a highly capable compact camera system, appealing to photography enthusiasts seeking professional-grade mobile imaging.

Beyond its display and camera, the phone supports cutting-edge connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, StarLight E2.0, NFC, and eSIM functionality. It also boasts an IP69 rating, indicating high levels of dust and water resistance. Pricing for the standard Mate 90 Pro Max begins at CNY 9,499 (approximately $1,420) for the 12GB/512GB model, increasing to CNY 9,999 (around $1,490) for the 16GB/512GB version.
