New Beginnings: Lakers Welcome Fresh Talent
Lakers Secure Promising Undrafted Prospects Post-Draft
Following the 2025 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers officially announced the acquisition of four undrafted rookies: guards RJ Davis and Augustas Marciulionis, and forwards Eric Dixon and Arthur Kaluma. These players have each committed to Exhibit 10 contracts, a widely anticipated development given their prior agreements to join the team after the draft.
Dixon's Contractual Adjustment Amidst Injury Concerns
Initially, reports suggested Eric Dixon, a highly-rated Villanova product, was a candidate for a two-way contract. However, he ultimately signed an Exhibit 10 deal. This change may be attributed to a foot injury that kept him out of the Summer League. Despite this, the nature of Exhibit 10 contracts allows for potential conversion to a two-way deal if Dixon demonstrates his fitness and performance capabilities before the regular season commences.
Eric Dixon: A Standout Collegiate Performer Joins the Lakers
Standing 6-foot-8, Eric Dixon, a left-handed forward from Villanova, was recognized as the top undrafted prospect, ranking 44th on ESPN's list. During the 2024–25 NCAA Division I season, Dixon led all players in scoring, averaging an impressive 23.3 points per game. He showcased exceptional shooting efficiency with 45.1% from the field, 40.7% from three-point range, and 81.3% from the free-throw line, alongside 5.1 rebounds per contest, earning him third-team All-American honors.
Guards RJ Davis and Augustas Marciulionis Add Backcourt Depth
The Lakers' new additions also include two dynamic guards. RJ Davis, a six-foot guard from North Carolina, was named ACC Player of the Year in 2023–24. In his super-senior season, he maintained strong averages of 17.2 points and 3.6 assists. Augustas Marciulionis, a 6’4″ Lithuanian guard from Saint Mary's, distinguished himself as a two-time West Coast Conference Player of the Year, contributing 14.2 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game, with solid shooting percentages of 44.6% from the field, 34.7% from three-point range, and 79.3% from the free-throw line.
Arthur Kaluma Completes the Rookie Class
Rounding out the quartet is Arthur Kaluma, a 6’7″ wing who spent his final collegiate year at Texas. Kaluma posted averages of 12.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists, demonstrating versatile offensive and defensive capabilities. His collegiate career also included stints at Creighton and Texas State, showcasing his adaptability across different programs.
Understanding Exhibit 10 Contracts: A Pathway to the NBA
Exhibit 10 contracts are non-guaranteed, one-year NBA agreements that offer a player a bonus of up to $85,300 if they are waived and then spend at least 60 days with the team's G League affiliate. These contracts serve as crucial opportunities for players to impress during training camp, potentially leading to a two-way contract conversion or even a coveted spot on the main NBA roster.
