The NBA has officially revealed the comprehensive schedule for the 2025 Emirates NBA Cup Group Play, an anticipated event now in its third year. This tournament, strategically placed within the regular season, aims to inject heightened excitement and competition during the period typically overshadowed by other major sports. The announced schedule confirms extensive national broadcast coverage across various platforms, including Prime, NBC, ESPN, and NBA League Pass, ensuring widespread access for fans. This initiative reflects the league's ongoing efforts to innovate and enhance the viewing experience, particularly during the traditionally competitive November-December window.

The tournament's group stage will feature dedicated \"Cup Nights\" occurring every Friday, commencing on October 31st and concluding on November 28th. Additional games are slated for November 25th and November 26th, expanding the tournament's presence. Prime's basketball coverage will make its debut on October 24th with a doubleheader, showcasing the Celtics against the Knicks, followed by the Timberwolves visiting the Lakers. These initial matchups set the stage for a series of high-stakes games.

Highlighting the opening Cup Night on Halloween, the Boston Celtics will face the Philadelphia 76ers in a significant East Group B clash. Later that evening, a marquee Western Conference showdown will unfold as Luka Doncic's Lakers take on Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies in West Group B. Subsequent Cup Nights on Prime will feature an array of compelling contests, including the Rockets versus the Spurs and the Warriors against the Nuggets on November 7th. The action continues with the Heat battling the Knicks and the Warriors visiting the Spurs on November 14th, followed by the Pacers facing the Cavaliers and the Nuggets challenging the Rockets on November 21st. The Group Play phase will culminate on November 28th with the Bucks playing the Knicks and the Mavericks taking on the Lakers.

NBC will contribute to the tournament's coverage with a doubleheader on November 25th, featuring the Magic against the 76ers and a Los Angeles derby between the Clippers and the Lakers. ESPN will host a tripleheader on Thanksgiving Eve, starting with the Pistons facing the Celtics. This will be followed by a highly anticipated rematch of the 2025 Western Conference Finals between the Timberwolves and the Thunder. The night will conclude with the Rockets and Warriors, reprising their 2025 first-round playoff series.

Following the conclusion of the Group Play on November 28th, the quarterfinals are scheduled for December 9th and 10th. The semifinals will subsequently take place in Las Vegas on December 13th, leading up to the championship game on December 16th at T-Mobile Arena. The Los Angeles Lakers secured the inaugural NBA Cup in 2023, defeating the Indiana Pacers in the final. The Milwaukee Bucks then claimed the 2024 title with a dominant performance against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This annual in-season competition underscores the NBA's commitment to enhancing viewer engagement and competitive intensity throughout its regular season. The carefully curated schedule and broad broadcast reach are designed to draw significant attention to these midseason matchups, adding an exciting new dimension to the professional basketball calendar.
