The cornerstone of the proposed improvements involves allocating $251 million toward upgrading 23 out of the parish’s 55 schools. A significant portion of the budget, $30 million, is dedicated to constructing a cutting-edge healthcare and STEM learning center near Northshore Technical Community College in Lacombe. Dubbed The Discovery Center, this facility will offer specialized courses for high school juniors and seniors interested in pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and healthcare fields.
This centralized approach allows students from all eight high schools within the parish to benefit from collaborative partnerships with regional healthcare providers and businesses. By concentrating resources at one location, the district maximizes efficiency while providing unparalleled opportunities for hands-on learning experiences.

Rounding out the proposal is an allocation of $12 million specifically targeted at purchasing new school buses. Reliable transportation remains vital for ensuring timely arrivals and departures, thereby reducing stress for both parents and students alike.
