TAT Technologies has announced exceptional financial results for the second quarter of 2026, marking a pivotal period of growth and strategic expansion. The company’s performance was significantly bolstered by a surge in demand and the gradual resolution of global supply chain challenges, enabling it to convert a substantial backlog into realized revenue. A highlight of this quarter is the deepening of its collaboration with Honeywell Aerospace, transforming TAT into the exclusive worldwide distributor for specific Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) spare parts and extending its Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) licenses until 2036. This move is set to establish new revenue streams and secure long-term profitability. Furthermore, the company is actively exploring merger and acquisition opportunities, underpinned by a new $100 million credit facility and a strong financial standing. Strategic investments in inventory are also being prioritized to manage ongoing industry lead-time extensions and ensure timely customer deliveries.

The second quarter of 2026 was notably strong for TAT Technologies, with revenue climbing to $52.9 million, an impressive 22.8% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This growth was fueled by unprecedented demand and the alleviation of supply chain bottlenecks. The company's order backlog reached a new high of $615 million by June 30, 2026, providing clear visibility into future earnings. Net income for the quarter stood at $8.1 million, including a non-recurring gain of $4.3 million from the sale of a minority interest. Adjusted net income, excluding this gain and a tax charge, was $4.6 million, an improvement from $3.4 million year-over-year. Diluted earnings per share were $0.61, or $0.35 when adjusted for the one-time gain.

Gross profit saw a 23% increase, reaching $13.3 million, with gross margins maintaining a robust 25.2%. This indicates strong pricing power despite rising procurement costs due to supply chain inefficiencies. Operating income improved to $5.6 million, or 10.6% of revenue, up from $4.4 million in Q2 2025. Adjusted EBITDA, excluding the non-recurring gain, was $7.4 million, representing 14% of revenue. All major product lines contributed positively to this growth, with APU revenue surging by 51.8% to $17.4 million, reflecting a recovery from previous part shortages. Heat Exchanger revenue grew by 7.8% to $19.1 million, driven by both OEM and MRO demand. Trading and Leasing revenue increased by 16.9% to $6.9 million, and Landing Gear revenue rose by 45.1% to $2.8 million, despite persistent part availability issues. The company concluded the quarter with $54.6 million in cash and equivalents, and total assets of $246.6 million, maintaining a healthy debt-to-cash ratio of 0.2.

The strategic alliance with Honeywell Aerospace represents a significant milestone, transforming TAT into the sole global distributor for spare parts for the 331-200 and 250 APU platforms. This expanded role, coupled with an MRO license extension to 2036, is expected to enhance TAT’s service offerings and solidify its market position. The company also acquired three Honeywell 131-9A APU units to further expand its leasing capabilities. Management emphasized its commitment to M&A as a key growth driver, with a robust pipeline of potential targets. The acquisition strategy focuses on deals that offer strategic fit and reasonable valuations, aiming for a financing structure of 50% credit and 50% capital market funding to maintain financial prudence. Additionally, TAT Technologies is investing in research and development for thermal solutions in emerging aviation sectors, such as electrification and eVTOL platforms, positioning itself for future innovations.

Looking ahead, TAT Technologies anticipates continued profitable growth, buoyed by strong customer demand and a record backlog. The company’s strengthened competitive position, particularly through its expanded relationship with Honeywell, and its strategic financial flexibility for future acquisitions, provide a solid foundation for sustained success. Efforts to manage supply chain volatility through increased inventory investments will remain a priority to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The company’s leadership expressed confidence in its trajectory for the remainder of 2026 and beyond, emphasizing its enhanced momentum and market standing.
