In a significant development, law enforcement agencies in Eastern North Carolina have apprehended three individuals in connection with an extensive larceny investigation. The Craven County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search operation on Monday, February 24, at a residence located on Main Street Extension in Edward. This action was part of an ongoing probe into multiple thefts reported over the past few weeks. Authorities uncovered numerous stolen items linked to victims in the Cool Springs Road area of Ernul and the Bridgeton area of Craven County. As a result of this operation, three suspects were taken into custody, facing various charges related to theft and possession of stolen goods.

The investigation began after the Craven County Sheriff’s Office received several reports of break-ins and thefts over the last three weeks. Investigators discovered that the stolen items were being transported to a residence in Beaufort County for potential sale. During the execution of the search warrant, authorities recovered multiple stolen items, confirming the involvement of the property in question. The arrests made include Malik Luther Cassidy, aged 24, Jamale Anton Stilley, aged 41, and Rhoda Marie Jones, aged 47. Each suspect faces distinct charges based on their alleged participation in the criminal activities.

Malik Luther Cassidy is charged with felony larceny, larceny after breaking and entering, firearm theft, financial card theft, and breaking into a motor vehicle. Jamale Anton Stilley faces charges of obtaining property by false pretenses, conspiracy to obtain property by false pretenses, possession of stolen goods, and possession of a stolen firearm. Rhoda Marie Jones is similarly charged with obtaining property by false pretenses, conspiracy to obtain property by false pretenses, possession of stolen goods, and possession of a stolen firearm. All three suspects are currently being held at the Craven County Detention Center under secured bonds.

The law enforcement agencies involved have emphasized that the investigation remains active, with the possibility of additional charges being filed as more evidence comes to light. Authorities are committed to ensuring justice for the victims and maintaining public safety in the affected areas. The collaborative efforts between the Craven County and Beaufort County Sheriff’s Offices highlight the importance of inter-agency cooperation in addressing crime effectively.
