RCI Colombia, a financial subsidiary of the renowned French car manufacturer Renault, has unveiled plans to introduce a substantial issuance of green and conventional bonds valued at COP900 billion (approximately $218 million) within the Colombian financial market. This strategic move aims to bolster sustainable initiatives and expand the company's financial portfolio. The bond issuance will be structured into nine separate tranches, with maturity periods extending from one to ten years.

The proceeds from the green bonds will play a pivotal role in funding environmentally friendly projects. These funds will specifically target the acquisition of electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as provide financing for loans and leasing agreements related to clean energy infrastructure such as battery technology, electric vehicle charging stations, and energy storage solutions. BBVA has been appointed as the coordinator, structurer, and lead placement agent for this significant undertaking, while legal advisory services will be provided by Holland & Knight. Notably, S&P Global has rated this issuance at AAA(col), underscoring its robust financial standing.

This initiative builds on RCI Colombia's previous success in April of the previous year when it successfully raised COP200 billion through a two-part bond sale. By continuing to leverage the capital markets, RCI Colombia demonstrates its commitment to fostering sustainable development and supporting the transition towards cleaner energy solutions in the automotive sector. Such efforts not only contribute to environmental preservation but also set an exemplary standard for responsible corporate citizenship.
